The computational study has been carried out for turbulent wall jet flow in the presence of freestream flow using low- Reynolds number k − ω shear stress transport (SST) model. The governing differential equations are discretized using the finite volume approach on a staggered grid. The power-law upwind and second-order central-difference schemes are used to discretize the convective and diffusive terms respectively. The velocity-pressure coupling is done using SIMPLEC algorithm. The effects of freestream velocity on flow and heat transfer characteristics are elucidated. The Reynolds number of the flow is considered as 16000 whereas freestream velocity is varied in the range from 0-0.27. Study of heat transfer characteristics of a turbulent wall jet interacting with freestream flow is carried out for heated jet submitted to adiabatic bottom wall. Calculation of important parameters such as spreading of jet at downstream in terms of jet-half width, decay of local axial maximum velocity, decay of local axial maximum temperature suggests that the presence of freestream motion reduces spreading of jet and heat transfer from the jet.
