Краткое описание
A well-known problem of convective heat transfer from a heated wire in a flow of air is studied experimentally using a single sensor hot-wire device with constant overheating relative to ambient temperature. Effect of the temperature difference between the wire and the fluid, the ambient temperature, and the finite length of a wire on the heat transfer is estimated quantitatively. It is shown that the method of cataloguing may be a more adequate tool for heat transfer data analysis in comparison with traditional nondimensional heat transfer relationships Nu=f(Re,Pr).
