Краткое описание
By analyzing expanding statistically spherical premixed turbulent flames, it is shown that the large-scale stretching of such a flame by spatially non-uniform mean flow substantially reduces flame speed as compared with the statistically planar flame, all other things being equal. This result implies that stretching of subfilter flame by large-scale turbulent eddies resolved in LES may substantially reduce the subfilter flame speed.
