Краткое описание

The Electric Power Research Institute has led the utilization of expert system technology to help find solutions to problems in the electric power industry. Spearheading this leadership in expert system development for nuclear applications has been the Nuclear Power Division in EPRI. This work has included applications development, verification and validation methodology development, and technology transfer. Although initial application development focused on proof-of-principle and demonstration prototypes, activities after this initial phase have focused on implementable systems which deal with real electric utility needs. A number of these systems have been implemented for both testing and production use. This paper describes some of these expert systems. It also describes some of the expert system verification and validation methodology development activities and the technology transfer efforts through the Knowledge-Based Technology Applications Center.
