Краткое описание

Recently a new model has been developed for the wall-to-bed heat transfer from solid surfaces immersed in fluidized beds /1/. This model makes use of some basic ideas adopted from the kinetic theory of gases in order to describe the mechanism of energy transfer through the moving particles ("particle convection"). The parallel - and in most cases less important - gas convective and radiative contributions are calculated from well known equations from the literature. In this paper the predictions of the new model are compared with a number of experimental data from the literature especially to show the influence of particle diameter, properties of particles, properties of fluidizing gas, bed expansion, temperature, and pressure on heat transfer coefficients in fluid bed heat exchangers.
