Post Dryout Correlations and Models Compared to Experimental Data from Different Fluids

Numerous model calculations and correlations for the prediction of the wall temperature in the post dryout regime in vertical heated tubes have been published during the last 10 years. Four non-equilibrium models and the same number of equilibrium correlations have been selected from the literature to be verified with measurements of the wall temperature performed in hydrogen, freon 12 and water.
The non-equilibrium models, particularly those of references [5] and [9], give satisfactory results within the parameter range of the experimental data for all three fluids. The equilibrium correlations predict satisfactorily the measured data mainly at high pressures and high mass fluxes.
