AB Biosorption of heavy metals is an effective technology for the treatment of industrial wastewaters. The results presented here show the sorption of Cu2+ which are solutions of biomass of filamentous algae Cladophora glomerata. In this work the biosorption behavior of C. glomerata is investigated as a function of pH, amount of biosorbent, initial Cu2+ concentration and temperature. The results indicated that the biomass of C. glomerata is suitable for the development of efficient biosorbent for the removal and recovery of Cu2+ from wastewater. The high values of correlation coefficient (r2 < 0.97) indicate equilibrium data of algal biomass well fitted in Freundlich isotherms model equations.
