It has been shown that for this situation a variety of single, double, or triple homogeneous flame scenarios can arise, accompanied by interflame droplet vaporization and/or heterogeneous burning. The influence of the strain rate, premixture injection rate, Prandtl and Schmidt numbers, and vaporization Damkohler number on these two-phase combustion ensemblages is studied in detail. The sensitivity of the mode of combustion to the flow, transport, and evaporation parameters is indicative of the complexities of the interactions that are peculiar to spray combustion. %8 1997-04-01
