AB The results of the study of algal flora of the lower portion of the Zeravshan River are presented. Two hundred and seventy-four taxa of algae (including 191 species, 75 varieties, and 8 forms) were recorded; among them, 76 taxa (67 species and 9 varieties) are indicators of water quality. Seasonal changes and the distribution of algae in the lower reaches of the river were studied. Sanitary quality of the water was evaluated by means of algal species indicators of saprobity.
