16 species (20 infraspecific taxa) of Chlorococcales were recorded from the territory of Israel for the first time. They included Coelastrum astroideum De Not., Dicloster acuatus Jao el al., Golenhniopsis longispina Korsch., Nephrochlamys allanthoidea Korsch., N. vwilleana (Printz) Korsch., Pediastrum boryanum (Turp.) Menegh. var. cornutum (Rac.) Sulek, P. duplex Meyen var. subgranulatum Rac., Schroederia robusta Korsch., Scenedesmus armatus (Chod.) Chod. var. bicaudatus (Gugl.) Chod., S. brasiliensis Bohl., S. costato-granulatus Skuja, S. insignis (W. et G.S. West) Chod, S. intermedius Chod, S. opoliensis P. Richt. var. alatus Deduss.-Sczegol., S. pannonicus Hortob., S. raciborskii Wolosz., S. serrates (Corda) Bohl., S. subspicatus Chod, Siderocelis ornata (Fott) Fott, Tetraedron triangulare Korsch. Data on their morphology, habitats and peculiarities of geographic distribution, as well as illustrations and notes concerning their taxonomic affiliation, are given.
