Simultaneous Separation and Identification of Nucleosides in Cultured Cordyceps sinensis (Berk.) Sacc. (Ascomycetes) Mycelia by Using the HPLC-DAD-MS Technique

Four nucleoside compounds (uridine, guanosine, adenosine, and 3’-deoxyadenosine) in the extract of cultured Cordyceps sinensis mycelia have been separated and unambiguously identified on line by using combined the high-performance liquid chromatography, diode array detection, and mass spectra (HPLC-DAD-MS) technique. The identification was based on the comparison of their HPLC Rt (retention time) values, UV (ultraviolet) spectra, and MS (mass spectra) with data of the authentic compounds. This method has provided a useful fingerprint for the comparison of different species of genus Cordyceps and their different cultivated mycelia.
