Краткое описание

The Institute for Scientific Information has announced that the journal Atomization and Sprays has been accepted for coverage in the Science Citation Index (SCI), beginning with Volume 7, Number 1, 1997. In addition, Atomization and Sprays will be covered in the Institute for Scientific Information publications: Current Contents/Engineering, Computing and Technology, Research Alert and Science Citation Expanded (formerly SciSearch).
The decision of the Institute for Scientific Information is based upon the quality of papers published, the high standards of refereeing, reviewing and editing of the journal, and the regular publication of the journal, on schedule. The Institute of Liquid Atomization and Spray Systems welcomes this recognition by the Institute for Scientific Information.
The editorial policy established at the founding of Atomization and Sprays has been, and continues to be, review of each manuscript submitted by three experts in the specific field of the paper. Reviewers are strongly encouraged to examine each manuscript critically and recommend revisions to assure publication of the highest quality scientific papers. Reviewers' comments are very detailed and extensive; almost all papers submitted require substantial revision, based on reviewers' recommendations. This process of review and revision has resulted in the quality of papers that meet the restrictive criteria of the Science Citation Index. Many authors have written to thank me for the high quality of reviewer comments. Some authors have indicated that the criteria for acceptance of papers in Atomization and Sprays are significantly higher than other journals to whom they submit papers. Some authors have expressed indignation at the rejection of a paper.
The editor wishes to thank authors, reviewers and members of the Editorial Board who have so diligently worked to set and maintain the high standards that have resulted in acceptance by the Institute for Scientific Information. Readers, authors, and other interested parties will benefit from these citations.
