DIAGNOSTICS AND ON-LINE-CONTROL OF A PLASMA SPRAYING PROCESS

An overview of current plasma diagnostic methods is given. As an example of an important Thermal Plasma Process the Plasma Spraying Process with its subsequent steps is investigated. Particularly, diagnostics on a DC Plasma Torch, Laser Scattering diagnostics of the plasma jet and Laser Doppler Anemometry of the injected particles are presented. Finally, the problems of an On-Line-Control of a Plasma Spraying Process based on plasma diagnostics are discussed.
