The study presents a method of two-stage thermal processing of high-ash coals (pyrolysis-combustion and pyrolysis-gasification) in a circulating fluidized bed under pressure that has been developed by NTTsVE for steam-gas plants burning solid fuel. The developed demonstration unit (TsKS-1.0) for this process at a heat power of 10 MW and the laboratory unit (RSK-2-D) for studying features of the coal conversion in a fluidized bed under pressure (FBP) are described.Results are given for burnout times of high-ash coals and their cokes in FBP.
