Краткое описание

The article deals with the main provisions of the rivers' hydropower potential and its components - the total, ecologically and technically possible potentials. Calculations were carried out using the geoinformation systems, which enabled to significantly increase reliability of the results. The general scheme of the hydropower potential determination is proposed. The implementation of the methodological provisions is carried out for establishing the hydropower potential of the rivers of the right bank of the Dnieper within Ukraine. The calculation included 509 rivers of the catchment area more than 50 km2 and more than 10 km long. Total hydropower potential of the studied water bodies amounts to 336.1 MW, the ecological - 111.0 MW, technically possible - 35.2 MW.
