Краткое описание
This inflator makes use of supercritical water, which is produced with a rapid stirring operation, due to high temperature and supersonic jet emission from a starter loaded with solid propellant. The pressure-time history and gas temperature of the exhaust products are satisfactory to car passengers' requirement. No pollutant gas was contained in this gas generant system, because water, oxygen and n-hexane are confined in the main reactor, and RDX/KCIO4/HTPB propellant was used only in the starter portion of the inflator. An example of semi-empirical calculation and experimental results are included in this paper.
