TWO FREQUENCY "UNAMBIGUOUS" HETERODYNE INTERFEROMETER BASED ON PHASE LOCKED MILLIMETER-WAVE BAND TRANSCEIVERS
Краткое описание
The paper presents the results of the design and description of the two frequency "unambiguous" heterodyne millimeter wave interferometer for measuring the linear integral electron density in high-temperature plasma in the tokamak. The microwave part of the interferometer is based on the solid-state transceivers with a phase locked loop. The interferometer is by itself a system of two solid-state transceivers and two millimeter wave receivers operating at the frequencies of 139.6 GHz and 138.9 GHz. The signals of master oscillators and heterodynes of the receivers are synchronized with the help of a phase-locked loop system from one reference oscillator. Phase measurement is performed using a three-channel phase meter executed on the basis of the programmable logic arrays (PLA). The interferometer provides information on the average electron density in plasma in the real time scale, and it is used in the process of burning and plasma discharge control system. The interferometer also provides for phase measuring within the limits of 0 to 7200 up to the plasma density value of 10 × 1019 m−3 with the temporal resolution of 100 μs.
