PERFORMANCE OF ROUTING PROTOCOLS WITH CONGESTION ALGORITHMS OF TCP VARIANTS IN MANET

A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) refers to a number of mobile devices that can play the role of the router and host. These devices can be moved in different directions without any problem and can be used in many fields and various areas without the need for the existence of base stations. To transport data from the sender to the targets, this network exploits several protocols that are hybrid routing, proactive, or reactive. In the transport layer of MANET architecture, TCP that is divided into two kinds: one-way-TCP and two-way-TCP used more than UDP. The Telnet protocol can be used in the application layer of the MANET. The goal behind this research work is to study and analyze the behavior of DSDV, AOMDV, AODV, and DSR routing techniques with TCP variants and application layer protocol (Telnet). From the results of simulation by using NS-2, we concluded that with one-way-TCP, AOMDV is the best routing protocol in average jitter, throughput, and average end to end (E2E) delay, while DSR is the best than the other routing protocols in packet delivery fraction (PDF), packet loss, and normalized routing load (NRL). In two-way-TCP kind, AODV is suitable in terms of average jitter, packets loss, PDF, and average E2E delay. However, in terms of throughput, AOMDV provides excellent results and in terms of NRL, DSR is the more efficient routing protocol than the rest.
