ABSTRACT

In this work a stand-alone probability density function (PDF) method was used to simulate variabledensity jets. An axisymmetric fully turbulent jet of helium, air or CO2 was considered with a density ratio of, respectively, 0.14, 1.0 and 1.5 to the density of the co-flowing air. The results are compared with experimental data from literature and available LES simulations showing good agreement which validates the approach.
