ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyse the combined heat and mass transfer of liquid film evaporation by covering a porous layer of left plate within a vertical channel. Both liquid and gas stream are approached by two coupled laminar boundary layer in corporate with non-Darcien Models. An implicit finite difference method is employed to solve the coupled governing equations for liquid film and gas flow together with the interfacial matching conditions. Evaporation of water introduced in porous layer into gas stream is examined for various conditions. The results of simulation show the importance of porosity and thickness porous layer to enhance heat and mass transfer performance across the liquid-film interface.
