Abstract

In this paper, we present a mathematical model of a rotary dryer of the phosphate. The numerical results are compared with the measurements carried out on the phosphate rotary dryer of the COZ (drying complex of Oued-Zem - Khouribga - Morocco). The dynamic model is developed from the conservation equations of heat and mass transfer. These equations are simplified by using appropriate assumptions which are validated by the measurements. This unsteady model includes variation of the product porosity and takes into account the thermal and mass diffusion processes. The comparison of the numerical results and the measurements is very satisfactory.
