ABSTRACT
The mutual diffusion coefficients of DMSO-aromatics (toluene, cumene, p-xylene, naphthalene, alpha-methyl naphthalene, phenanthrene, pyrene) at 25 °C have been measured using the metallic diaphragm cell technique. The group contribution method for the prediction of diffusion coefficients in liquid has been used successfully after defining new functional groups and evaluating the group parameters for these complex systems. A discussion at the effects and interactions of solution concentration and molecular structure on diffusion coefficients is also presented.
