A LATTICE BOLTZMANN KINETIC MODEL FOR MICROFLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER
ABSTRACT
In this paper, we propose a lattice Boltzmann BGK mode for simulation of micro flows with heat transfer. This model is based on kinetic theory and the thermal lattice Boltzmann method [17]. The relaxation times are redefined in terms of the Knudsen number and a diffuse scattering boundary condition (DSBC) is adopted to consider the velocity slip and temperature jump at wall boundaries. Simple theoretical analysis and numerical validation show that the DSBC results in correct velocity slips and temperature jumps at the wall boundaries. The obtained numerical results compare well with those given from the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC), the molecular dynamics (MD) approaches and the Maxwell theoretical predictions.
