Heat Transfer Analysis of a Channel Plate Heat Exchanger

Abstract

In this paper, a discussion of the analytical work for the heat transfer in plate heat exchanger will be given. Based upon geometrical and physical similarities, a number of non-dimensional heat transfer prediction formulae available from the literature will be used here to model heat transfer and pressure drop on the shell and tube sides for channel thermal plate's geometries.
The analytical results obtained from using such methods will be later compared to those obtained from experimental obtained. Discussion will include those results for local and global heat transfer and for pressure drop on either side of heat exchanger.
