ABSTRACT

The objective of the investigation was computer simulation of the temperature field seen in the process of grinding a work-piece. At that, two- and three-dimensional formulations are used. Temperature dependencies of the thermal properties and dependence of boundary actions on time and space coordinates are taken into account. In addition, the specific character of the simulated processes forces to pay special attention to informational support of the simulation, fist of all, for appropriate modeling of boundary conditions and getting thermal properties as essential parts of initial data for successful research.
The results of the simulation give a chance to choose the grinding regime, which made a noticeable increase of metal removal rate and good structural properties of the surfaces having been processed.
