NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF NATURAL CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER IN A WINDOW WITH A BETWEEN-PANES VENETIAN BLIND
ABSTRACT
In this work it is numerically studied the natural convection conjugate heat transfer taking place in a window with a between–panes venetian blind. Emphasis is given to the influence of the inclination angle of the blind, to the conduction heat transfer occurring along and across the curved metallic louvers of the blind, and to the local and overall heat transfer performances of the so composite window. Visualization of the conjugate heat transfer problem is made using the heatlines, thus showing the heat conduction relevance of the louvers. The local and overall heat transfer taking place in the composite window is analyzed, and comparisons are made with some experimental results and also with the overall heat transfer performance of the natural convection situations on simple differentially heated tall rectangular enclosures.
