ABSTRACT

The research program was encompassed on investigation of mini-/microscale heat transfer of two-phase flow (propane) in mini channels with micro/nano particles coating on the heat loaded wall at heat flux ranges 102−105 W/m2. Investigation of the evaporation heat transfer in minichannels on single horizontal tube (smooth and with porous coating) was performed for the reasons of analysis of its cooling efficiency. The data of the heat transfer intensity obtained on a flooded and partially flooded horizontal tube with micro/nano porous coating disposed in the liquid pool or in confined space (annular mini-channels with the thickness 0.1 to 2 mm) testify the phenomena of micro heat pipe, which ensure the temperature field uniformity inside the porous media. A microscale effect took place inside the porous body and a mini-scale effect was observed in the flank or annular mini-channel. Visual analysis and experimental validation show, that the mini/micro porous coating on the heat loading wall is favorable to enhance the heat transfer (2.5−3 times) to compare with the heat transfer of the same tube with smooth walls in the liquid pool, or inside the flank and annular mini-channel and completely modify the hydrodynamic of the two-phase flow.
