T1 A HYBRID SOLUTION FOR SIMULATION OF 2-D CONTAMINANT TRANSPORT IN HETEROGENEOUS SUBSURFACE SYSTEMS JF Hybrid Methods in Engineering JO HME YR 2001 FD 2001-09-01 VO 3 IS 2&3 OP 15 AB The generalized integral transform technique (GITT) is employed to simulate the two-dimensional contaminant transport in a multilayer subsurface system. Two layers are considered. In the first one the unsaturated zone is treated as a saturated soil; the second layer is supposed to be a groundwater pathway. The flow field is taken as known. The concentration source is assumed to be located at the top of the system, and two types of boundary conditions are investigated: constant- and time-dependent flux injection. The 2-D hybrid numerical-analytical proposed solution obtained through GITT is graphically presented.
