MODIFICATION OF THE GODUNOV NUMERICAL METHOD FOR GAS-DYNAMICS EQUATIONS

RESUMO

Modifications of the Godunov method for the gas-dynamics equations are presented on the basis of new approximate solutions of the discontinuity disintegration problem. The solutions provide the condition of nondecreasing entropy in the numerical computations. The advantage of the approaches is that the speed of sound at the boundaries of mesh cells does not need to be calculated. This fact simplifies the application of the proposed schemes in the case of the complicated state equation with variable gas properties. The approximate solutions, proposed for the discontinuity disintegration problem, can be applied to the numerical simulation of a wide range of aero-gas-dynamic problems by the Godunov method.
