LIFTING BODY AERODYNAMIC EFFICIENCY INCREASE USING HEAT EXCHANGE

RESUMO

In this paper, a lifting body heat exchange method with external flow is proposed that uses upper-surface cooling and lower-surface heating and provides an assured increase in the lift-to-drag ratio. Analytical and computational investigations are carried out concerning the aerodynamic characteristics of a plate under zero angle of attack. The plate under these conditions has the lift and a nonzero lift-to-drag ratio. Computational results for the supercritical wing aerodynamic characteristics are also given, which completely confirm the analytical results concerning the influence of the heat exchange on the lift, drag, and lift-to-drag ratio.
