Calculation of the Statistical Characteristics of a Turbulent Flow Subjected to the Action of External Forces

RESUMO

The statistical characteristics of isotropic fields of velocity and scalar are studied for the case of the presence of external pumping of the kinetic energy of turbulence. Two models of distributions of the kinetic energy of turbulence and intensity of fluctuations of the scalar field over the spectra of wave numbers and scales of lengths are considered. These models are used to calculate dispersions, rates of dissipation, and several third-order moments of the velocity and scalar fields. Both models are tested by comparing them with each other and with the data of direct numerical modeling performed for the same conditions.
