RESUMO

The main features and prospects of the method of plasma-fired treating toxic and radioactive waste with a filter bed combustible material in the shaft furnace designed at the A. V. Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute are considered. Ordinarily sawdust is used as the material whose filtering ability has been numerically estimated and confirmed by other experimental data with the same filter material, including the data on thermal treatment of radioactive waste in a similar shaft furnace.
