RESUMO

Paper deals with results of microbiological monitoring of the water areas of the operating oil fields of the West Shelf of the southern section of the Caspian Sea. Conditions are discussed of the microbial biocenosis forming, which participates in rehabilitation of normal characteristics of the marine environment, polluted by oil and oil products. Parameters are determined which enable to predict numbers and potential activity of microorganisms, participating in purification of the marine water from oil pollution and easily-oxidized organic matters.
