Faunistic Characteristics of Macrozoobenthos of the Danube Lakes in Ukraine

RESUMO

Taxonomic composition of macrozoobenthos of the Danube lakes was studied over the years 2006-2012. Totally 196 taxa were revealed, among them 174 were identified to the species level. Dominating groups were: Chironomidae - 29, Gastropoda - 28, Oligochaeta - 26, Odonata - 22, Amphipoda - 14 species. All species occurred in the lake littoral, and in the sublittoral - 82 species. Maximal number of species (183) was registered in the Yalpug Lake, minimal (66) - in the Kytay Lake in 2006-2009. Owing to deterioration of ecological situation in the lake in 2012, their number dropped to 23. The number of Ponto-Caspian species in the lakes decreased from 43 that in the mid-twentieth century up to 20 species nowadays.
