A New Model of Sampler for Quantitative Analysis of Riverine Zoobenthos

RESUMO

The description of a new model of sampler for obtaining zoobenthos specimens for their qualitative and quantitative analyses is presented. The proposed model is a multifunctional one and can be applied instead of similar gears. It is usable for sampling of benthic invertebrates in various microbiotopes in watercourses, such as large boulders, rocks, flooded trees, and soft grounds. Moreover, it the sampler can be used as a drift net, a scraper, and a lift net.
