RESUMO
A numerical model and an analytical solution of the advectiondiffusion equation are used in order to evaluate the environmental impact due to emissions of a thermoelectric power plant located in the south of Brazil. Realistic physical parameterization for the planetary boundary layer as well as meteorological inputs for the models were obtained from field campaigns conducted in the region. For the purpose of model evaluation, results were compared against monitored surface concentrations. Disagreement between modeled and observed concentrations is the result of model assumptions and simplifications.
