This paper describes in details many aspects in developing an expert system for maintenance of a one stage compression system of an air conditionning installation. First an expert system Frigexpert was developed to help operators in their diagnosis. The new system described in this paper trys to detect dysfonctionments based only on data coming from sensors. In our study we concluded a neccesity to have redondancies to treat efficiently sensors errors. Simulating more and more dysfonctionments and faults is useful to analyse better their evolutions.
