T1 Modeling of Electrohydrodynamic Processes within a Charge Injected Fuel Spray Nozzle JF International Journal of Fluid Mechanics Research JO FMR YR 1997 FD 1997-12-01 VO 24 IS 4-6 SP 791 OP 797 AB In this paper some preliminary results of the modeling of viscous flow of a fluid fuel in a spray nozzle with applied electric field are presented.
For the given geometry of the nozzle, fluid properties, inflow rate, applied potentials at the electrodes, the numerical model gives the velocity, hydrodynamic pressure, electric field, electric potential and space charge density distributions. Based on calculated results, it is possible to suggest such an optimal nozzle geometry so that the leakage current - spray current ratio is minimal.
