AB As a result of experiments it has been established that about 50% of organic matter was mineralized by bacteria and algae. The role of Chironomidae larvae was also rather high. They were followed by Hirudinea and mollusks. The involvement of microinvertebrates and Protozoa in organic matter decomposition was insignificant. The contribution of each group to the process of organic matter decomposition was about 1%.
