Radiographs confirmed slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) of the left hip. The surgical procedure he received used a single, 8-mm, partially threaded, cannulated screw. Postoperatively he was advised to remain strictly non-weight bearing on the affected lower limb until physeal closure was achieved. Unfortunately, he fell down 4 weeks postoperatively and sustained a subtrochanteric fracture on the same hip, with the cannulated screw still in place. This injury was surgically treated using a dynamic condylar screw and a side plate. %8 2012-09-26
