Specrophotometric Semi-Micro Determination of Ergosterol in Selected Medicinal Indian Phellinus Quél. (Aphyllophoromycetideae) Species
要約
The present study reports the presence of ergosterol in 16 Indian medicinal Phellinus species for the first time. The samples were extracted at room temperature: first in alcoholic KOH, then in a mixture of distilled water and n-heptane. The upper n-heptane layer was pooled and analyzed between the spectrum of 200−300 nm. The ergosterol content was found to be the same in Ph. lloydii and Ph. minutiporus (0.26 mg−100g), Ph. sublinteus and Ph. orientalis (0.3 mg−100g), and Ph. coffeatoporus and Ph. aureobrunneus (0.12 mg−100g), respectively, whereas Ph. crocatus and Ph. torulosus contained 0.01 mg−100g ergosterol. In other Phellinus samples, the amount of ergosterol was relatively less. Furthermore, during spectrophotometric analysis, distinct peaks were observed in Ph. aureobrunneus, Ph. coffeatoporus, Ph. crocatus, Ph. griseoporus, Ph. torulosus, and Ph. linteus, as well as in Ph. lloydii, Ph. sublinteus, and Ph. minutiporus. However, the peaks were less distinct in seven samples such as Ph. badius, Ph. orientalis, Ph. pappinus, Ph. adamantinus, Ph. fastuosus, Ph. merrillii, and Ph. melanodermus.
