EFFECT OF EXTERNAL UNSTEADY THERMAL PERTURBATIONS ON THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE STABILITY

Non-isothermal turbulent gas flows in the engine channels are analyzed. Analytic expression for estimation of thermal and dynamic boundary layers at unsteady flow in the wall area is proposed based on the typical time scales. The dependence of the critical value of the inlet air heating that causes unsteady engine performance on the rate of temperature increase and presence of the extreme point corresponding to the minimum value of heating is explained from the physical viewpoint.
