One promising method of flow control in a turbulent boundary layer is investigated. This method is based on the usage of a dielectric barrier discharge induced on a streamlined surface by longitudinally located electrodes. The experimental results concerning the influence of different schemes of electrodes and discharge parameters on turbulent drag for flow velocity ranging from 11.6 to 40 m/s are shown. It is demonstrated that under the action of a dielectric barrier discharge on the flow, drag reduction of 3−10% is possible. The influence of low static pressure on the value of the velocity induced by the discharge is also investigated.
