The paper is devoted to the problems of experimental and numerical investigation of the flow field and gaseous fuel distribution in the frontal module of a combustion chamber with a multistage swirler. To investigate the flow characteristics and measure the concentration fields of a gaseous fuel, a particle image velocimeter (PIV) was used in experiments. Data on the structure of flow and concentration fields of a gaseous fuel on efflux of a gas-air mixture into an open space are obtained. The technique adopted in the work to calculate the flow is based on numerical integration of the Reynolds equations written in the velocity-pressure variables for the case of a stationary turbulent twisted flow of constant density. Fuel distributions were calculated from the passive impurity transfer equations.
