This paper presents the results of a numerical study of the problem on turbulent convection in a vertical channel located above a rectangular heat source. The hot source is heated to a temperature Ts. The inner walls of the channel chain are heated (to a temperature Tp) following the issuance of thermal radiation from the hot source. In this study, we used the commercial software (CFD), Fluent, constructing an averaged standard κ−ε model. This software is based on the use of the finite volume method. The work involves a comparison between the numerical results with those of experience in literature. The comparison gives good agreement between the two results. We studied the effect of the source-channel spacing position by setting the source position relative to the channel in the vertical direction. We are also interested in the effect of the source-channel spacing of the recirculation zone formed above the heat source.
