要約

This paper deals with the numerical investigation of the laminar natural convection flow of a Cu-water nanofluid in an inclined porous square cavity. The cavity is bounded by isothermal vertical walls and adiabatic horizontal walls. The mathematical transport equations are formulated using the Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer model and solved by the SIMPLE algorithm. The Patel et al. (Patel, H., Pradeep, T., Sundararajan, T., Dasgupta, A., Dasgupta, N., and Das, S., Pramana J. Phys., vol. 65, pp. 863–869, 2005) and Brinkman models are used to estimate the effective thermal conductivity and viscosity of Cu-water nanofluid, respectively. A comparison study was conducted to prove the accuracy of present numerical code against previous works and found to be in good agreement. Numerical simulations are performed for various nondimensional parameters, such as the porosity, inclination angle, Darcy number, solid volume fraction, and nanoparticle size. The obtained results are presented in the form of streamline and isothermal contours as well as the midheight velocity profiles and average Nusselt number graphs. It is found that the inclination angle plays a significant role on the flow patterns when the values of the Darcy number and nanoparticle size are relatively high.
