Diurnal Dynamics of Organic Matter Production by Phytoplankton

要約

Phytoplankton releases organic matter 24 hours a day. On average, 17−43% of daily amount of assimilated carbon is returned to the environment. The peak of release is usually observed in the midday, but in some cases it shifts to the morning or evening hours.
