Evaluation of Oil Film Parameters on the Sea Surface Using Multifrequency Radar Data
要約
The present paper deals with the problem of determining the signatures of pollution caused by the surface-active substance (SAS) films from multifrequency radar sensing data. This is achieved by using the data from the experimental investigations into the off-shore oil-producing area "Neftyany Kamny" ("Oil Stones") in the Caspian Sea. These studies were performed with the airborne multifrequency (Ka, X, L-band) radar system "MARS" and supported by the theory of radar contrast of high sea state when there exists a SAS film. This procedure enabled one to estimate the oil-film surface activity and the surface oil concentration, to compare the informative character of the radio waves that had been utilized in the experiment, to provide recomendations for conducting an optimal experiment and to set out immediate objectives for advancement of theoretical principles.
