MILLIMETER WAVE PROPAGATION IN COASTAL AREA
要約
The paper considers some issues of centimeter and millimeter wave propagation oversea. The ducts that are formed in the coastal areas are usually advective, and their parameters (duct height and М-difference) depend on the distance off shore, and their power by far exceeds the power of the evaporation ducts. The field structure in the line of sight and the half-shadow regions were calculated under various meteorological conditions using the split-step Fourier methods for parabolic equation. The numerical and experimental data were in a good agreement. This research proved that the interference structure of the centimeter wave field is stable and its distortion is only possible by a very strong refraction. In the millimeter wave range, the distortion of the interference structure happens even by a weak refraction. A strong refraction accompanied by a change in the radio meteorological parameters along the propagation path destroys the interference structure.
