The lattice Boltzmann method solves the velocity field while the temperature field is obtained by the Monte Carlo method. The two-dimensional nine discrete velocities (D2Q9) model is used in the lattice Boltzmann method, and random walker is employed in the Monte Carlo method. Natural convection is via a differentially heated rectangular enclosure under different Rayleigh numbers which are solved for validation and the results agree well with the benchmark. It indicates the proposed hybrid method is valid for the natural convection simulation. %8 2015-08-28
